The Kolho lounge chair from Made by Choice is built on the idea of opposites: “chaos” in the form of the curved, serpentine frame and “reason” in the form of the straightforward flat seat. The chair was created by Matthew Day Jackson and is named after Kolho, a hamlet in Finland where the idea for the partnership with Made by Choice first materialized. The Apollo landing, according to the designer and artist, also served as inspiration for the plywood chair. The Made by Choice plant in Halikko, Finland is where the Kolho lounge chair is made.
