The Mushroom Rattan Stool Designed by Eero Aarnio
The Mushroom stool is one of Eero Aarnio’s oldest designs. The first version was created as early as 1954 when Aarnio crafted a woven rattan basket that he thought looked like a stool when turned upside down. The final form of Mushroom, then called Juttujakkara (”story stool” or ”chat stool”), was designed in 1961. The multi-purpose Mushroom stool can be used as a seat, ottoman or a night stand and it is the perfect companion for Eero Aarnio’s Elephant Boot chairs.
