Hakola is a Finnish furniture manufacturer located in the small town of Jurva in Southern Ostrobothnia. The name Hakola stands for high quality, skillful carpentry and strong Finnish traditions.
Hakola was founded in 1963 by Eero Hakola who decided to turn his barn into a carpenter’s workshop specializing in sofas and other furniture. Today, Hakola’s products are still made by hand in the town of Jurva and the company is led by Eero Hakola’s son Jari Hakola and his daughter, designer Annaleena Hämäläinen. While most other furniture workshops in the area have closed their doors, Hakola has managed to continue, thanks to the solid quality and fresh, innovative attitude.
