Light Sculptures – the Magnificent FLOS Arrangement Lamp Design

Positioned between fine art and design, London-based designer Michael Anastassiades’ work aims to provoke dialogue, participation and interaction. The Arrangements Pendant (2017) evolved from his fascination with the parallel between lighting and jewelry. “One is designed to be worn on the body whereas the other is made to decorate the space someone occupies,” says the designer. “It’s interesting how the delicate nature of something small can be translated spatially and still manage to retain its preciousness in the way materials are presented. It’s no coincidence that the word ‘pendant’ can mean jewelry worn around the neck and lighting that hangs from a ceiling.”
